The Medical Council of India and Dental Council of India have notified that the Central Board of Secondary Education shall be the organization to conduct the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for admission to MBBS and BDS Courses. NEET UG exam conducted in offline mode (pen and pencil mode) and the duration of exam will be of three hours. The total paper is of 720 marks. There is negative marking in the exam. The exam for incorrect answer one mark will be deducted. The Subjects included in NEET UG Exam are Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. The NEET UG Exam is conducted in Hindi and English. From 2017 onwards NEET UG exam is conducted in Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, Bengali and Gujarat languages also Kannada, Odia language are also added into it. So students can write an exam in nine Indian languages and English.

The NEET UG Exam has been replaced by the AIPMT (All India Pre-Medical Test) from this year. It's generally conducted on 1st Sunday of May every year.

Eligibility for NEET UG Exam

  • The applicants should be Class XII passed with a minimum of 50% marks obtained in the following subjects- Chemistry, Physics, Biotechnology/ Biology and English respectively.
  • In addition to this, the qualifying age of candidate should be minimum 17 years and maximum 25 years counted from 31st December of the concerned year. A minimum relaxation of 5% marks is granted to the Physically Challenged candidates and 10% for the SC/ST/OBC/SC-PH/OBC-PH/ST-PH respectively.

NEET UG Exam Pattern:

  • There will be one paper consist of 180 objective type questions.
  • Total Marks Allotted is 720.
  • Questions will be asked from Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
  • Candidates can choose either English or Hindi as language of the question paper.
  • Exam duration will be of 3 hours.
  • Every question will carry 4 marks and one mark gets deducted from the total for each incorrect answer.
